Good Morning

Was meant to be picked up for work at 6:00am this morning. My lift was late so I came on here to listen to this. Good Morning.

Change

After completing a folder on clouds as a part of my AS Photography for the year just past, I've begun to take notice of the sky a lot more than it just being an open space. Some of the dramatic skylines are just to sick. Tuesday night was no different with an intense change in the sky colour at sunset.

United States

Firstly, Lick A Beat // DJ Zinc went down a storm on Thursday. However we've had problems getting the watermark of the organisers. Hopefully over the next few days we'll be able to show you what went down.

Meanwhile, whilst in America me and my family travelled from Orlando to Daytona Beach. We had been to Cape Canaveral earlier on in the day but I'll get them shots up another time. We arrived into Daytona at night, pretty much hit 'Applebys', got some buffalo wings, then hit bed.

Daytona Beach, 23 miles of white sand. Hard enough for cars to drive on making it heaven for off road motorsports. Surfing, body boarding, women, high rise hotels. Out of all the places I went in America this year this was by far the one.

This is my third post now on U.S.A. If you want to see anymore of the shots that I got whilst there, either find my U.S. posts on the posting archive, Or hit the Greasy flickr. GreasyFlickr/AmericaCollection.

Lick A Beat

Tonight Coventry welcomes the infamous DJ Zinc, performing a 2 hour Crack House set at the second Lick A Beat event. The Kasbah is to take host, and is set to open its doors at 10:00pm, and will hold us right through untill 4:30am. So if you're in Coventry reading this we expect to see you there.

Me & James will be photographing the night, expect some shots tommorrow.

The Creators Project

The Creators Project. You may know the name if you read Vice magazine. If not, then you need to know the name. The Creators Project is a "new network dedicated to the celebration of creativity and culture across media, and around the world." The work that this team of artist, writers, designers, musicians & more puts out is beyond the one. Their featured work is far futuristic to any other artists we've seen. This is year one.

They're the best of the videos with available HTML codes. But obvisouly you need to see the rest. Hit the links & meet the Creators.

A Few Changes

We've made a few changes to the blog over the last week. We've stripped the header to make it cleaner, we felt the blog needed something a bit more creative than just our name with our logo. We've also made a big step in showing you our names, we've each got our own posting account now so we can give you posts which are a little more personalised. We were gonna' keep it on lock as just the one account, that being Greasy. But Ragz, we aint' feeling that.

Greasy will be making massive jumps forward over the next month. Behind the scene of all this blogging business our clothing has been and still is taking shape. Yeah it's taking time, but we're prepared to stay slow to get it all exactly how we want. Soon we'll get you a visual in-sight and the beginnings of the Greasy look book.

Another thing that we're interested in doing is getting a little collab on the go with M.E.G.A. a blog ran by good mate Luke Meggitt. This guy has been throwing out some stupidly interesting stuff. Once we have the time we are hoping to have him fully involved with the Greasy blog. But, for now, check him out lmeggitt.blogspot.com (M.E.G.A.)

Chrome Ball

Yesterday 20th July Matt hit is 18th birthday, after not fully embracing him yesterday I took the walk up the road to his house to see what he had to say about the occasion. First thing he had to show me was his 'Chrome Ball' Nike SB dunk lows. A birthday investment.

Matt's always been a 'fat tongue' admirer and hasn't been too keen on the recent 'thin tongue', until now with the return of the much loved 'fat tongue' on the 'Chrome Ball' low. Me personally I'm still undecided after owning pairs with both 'thin' and 'fat' tongues.

Another reason in going for the 'Chrome Ball' low was the colour way, Matt's got the same view of many SB fans in that the colour way's haven't been as strong or meaningful of previous years. This one was a stand out for him and so yesterday with his birthday cash it was a straight up cop.

Attention to detail I'd say is a priority of Nike SB, they've recently been making slight changes to their collections, from the design of the shoe down to the labels. Expect to see a new sole over the coming months on the dunks.

A long over due conversation with Matt is what was needed today, a catch up on what's been going down with each other and opinions on recent events in and outside of Greasy.

A good day.

Bouteek: The Tuff Guys

Saturday night brought along Bouteek at Careys. Our friends, the writers of the ever popular O Rly Tuff Guy were there headlining the event. "The Tuff Guys" did what they do best and delivered a straight up mean show. You will probably see us doing more things with these two in the future, they are definately ones to watch.

Luke Meggitt (left) of M.E.G.A was in attendance.

And we can't but not say props to the organiser Jamie.

Stick "Em Up!

Non stop rain is what Coventry decided to hold for us today. Meaning a day of sitting getting square eyes, either in front of the PC or the television.

Anyway. This is Daniel Anguilu, and this is his artist profile. He is one of many artist being featured in the up and coming Stick "Em Up! Movie and out of around 8 artist profiles we looked at, his video caught our attention most. Shot by shooteditsleep.com take a look.

Now Daniel and a string several other street artists will feature in this movie where you will be able to gain a deep insight in to the day to day lives of these artists. Not only will you gain the views of the artists themselves, you will get to see the views of city officials, citizens and interviews with epic heads like Shepard Fairey. This movie is definately going to catch our attention. We'll keep you updated for when the final product is revealed. In the meanwhile, Stick "Em Up! - Sneak Preview.

The U.S.

A couple of weeks ago, just before me & Matt decided to leave James on his own again and go off leng in Turkey, I posted up some shots from my America holiday. So today, just after browsing through them again I decided it was time to put a few more on the table. All these shots here were taken in Epcot centre, Disney Florida.

The Epcot ball. The best educational ride inside this. Its killer education.

Nike (RED) Tied Together

Two posts in a day, we must be on a hype.

A fair few months back now we read that Nike were to be teaming up with (RED) in a bid to help fight Aids and HIV in Africa. Now, today after reading through a couple of our favoured blogs we seen it. The Nike (RED) Tied Together video - Lace Up Save Lives. An epic video set in some of the worlds most inspirational cities, a 120 hour relay race that went down in NYC, London, Milan, Berlin and Paris.

Probably one of the best mass organised and varied charity races we've ever seen.

Greasy did Turkey

James has been on his own for the last week and he's been getting up to some pretty interesting stuff. This is because myself and Matt have been on a weeks holiday to Marmaris, Turkey with a bunch of 9 other lads. Surprisingly all 11 of us made it home.

Now I can pretty much guarantee if you were to ask any of us what our holiday was like, most of the respsonses would be "the one". Some of the things we did were once in a lift time situations. Turkey's scenery is like something none of us have ever seen. Basically, we couldn't try and describe how epic the week was.

If you ever go there, rent scooters & a jeep. The best £40 ever spent.

He bought and lost a lighter every night.
