Out of all the 78 posts so far to date from Greasy, I don't think one post has been related to the core part of Greasy Couture the clothing, which we agree is pretty shocking. Today Me & the team thought we would change this and show you that the clothing line is coming, and we're not just a photography blog, which is what a few people have suggested. Greasy Couture was created in 2007 and has been slowly coming together over the past three years, in this time the brand has gone through many different looks. One of the main reasons for this, is changes of staff in the Greasy team, this bringing different views and outlooks of the brand, the current set up of Rich, Matt & Me has to be the most solid so far. Since Greasy Couture was started quality has always been top of the list. The first garments to drop for Greasy will be, a selection of black and white t-shirts to keep it simple. After researching and getting samples of various t-shirts we opted to go for the American based brand Alstyle, Diamond Supply Co, also use this company, along with a few more high end brands. We didn't just want your standard Fruit of the Loom to print on as we want out products to last longer and to be of a higher quality. Getting hold of the Alstyle t-shirts was not easy as they don't ship to Europe, won't bore you with the details on that but it was a effort. GC
Re-opening the box of t-shirts to photograph them, some old Greasy samples were inside. This was of the first designs from back in 2007 'Spit Tooth Green', very similar to Benny Gold's 'Stay Gold' plane.
The first logo design came from the font 'Levi Brush', originally I was a fan of this font, but over the last few years i've seen it popping up more and more often being used commercially.
All Coventry citizens should recognise this design, a photo of the war memorial in the Memorial Park.
